Coupon Sources

I love finding good deals...and I generally find those by watching sales and finding coupons to go with those items. I thought I'd share some of my favorite places to get coupons today.

Most of my coupons come from the Sunday paper...we subscribe to a local paper, the Toledo Blade. I just looked on their website and it says that a subscription for 7 days a week, for 52 weeks, is $104. I saved half of that in coupons just at Kmart on Monday...so if you're faithful in using your coupons, you make that money back and then some! Isn't that nice!? :)

I also use the following online sources quite a bit. Once you visit these sites, you will notice that some of them have the same coupons and some of them are sourced through www.coupons.com, so if you've printed your limit from one of the sources, you won't be able to print the same coupon through a different one. You can usually print two of each coupon through these sources. They will let you know when you've reached your limit. I've read that some stores are starting to get more strict in their accepting of printable coupons due to coupon fraud. There is an excellent blog entry on coupon ethics here. So please be honest in your couponing so that the companies will keep providing them.

Other ways of getting coupons...
Newsletters – Many companies have newsletters that you can sign up for online. Often they will include great coupons in them. Look up some of your favorite brands online and register with them to find additional savings. I've done this and have gotten several coupons this way.

Contact the manufacturer directly – Many people contact manufacturers when they have an issue with a product, but it’s also nice to contact them when you find a product that you really enjoy. Don’t be afraid to ask if they would be willing to put you on their coupon mailing list. I'm trying this out...we'll see if it works. I've heard it has for others.

Free samples –Manufacturers often include coupons in the free samples that they send out as an extra incentive for you to go out and purchase the product if you try it and like it.

Product packaging – Check the packaging that your products come in--check inside and out for coupons. Sometimes there are coupons printed on the inside of boxes or there may be coupons within the products themselves. You may also find coupons that you peel off on the outside of products.

Store coupons – Often stores offer their own coupons, as opposed to manufacturer coupons. You can use both a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupons on the same item. Save big when you pair up coupons on sale items! A good way to get store coupons is by signing up for store loyalty programs. I get a little booklet from Target every now & then with some good coupons. I'm not a Kroger shopper, but I've heard that they send their regular customers coupons by mail as well.

Magazines – I don't subscribe to any magazines, other than Taste of Home but I've read, and have seen in the past, that there are coupons in certain magazines...try Better Homes and Gardens and Woman’s Day. I also found online that some say the best magazine for coupons is called ALL YOU. I'm not sure what this is but I was able to sign up for 2 free trial issues. I'm going to get my free issues and see if it's worth paying for a subscription.

Have fun looking for coupons and getting the good deals!!! :)
