Cake Balls

I had seen these on a few recipe sites recently so I thought I'd give them a try being I had all of the ingredients on hand. I tried taking a picture but it wasn't looking too good so I left it off. There is a link at the bottom if you're interested in getting an idea of what they will look like.

You will need:
1 cake mix (plus ingredients to make it according to package directions)
1 container of frosting
almond bark

You can use whatever cake mix/frosting/almond bark combo that suits you. I made a strawberry cake and used vanilla frosting with white almond bark.

This is very easy!!...

First, bake the cake according to package directions. I let it cool a bit and then cut it into four pieces. In a large bowl, mash the cake up into fine crumbs (I would mash one fourth, then add another and continued on till I was done).

Then add container of frosting (I only used 3/4 of it) and stir/mash that all together till it was mixed well.

Place bowl in the fridge until it is cool. Then roll cake/frosting mixture into balls. I used a melon ball scoop thing to get me started and then rolled them in my hands so that they would look nicer.

Then melt your almond bark and dip your cake balls. I tried using toothpicks to dip each one but they were falling apart so I just rolled them around in the melted almond bark till they were coated and then plopped them on waxed paper till the almond bark hardened.

They are yummy...but VERY sweet.

Here is a fun idea of what you could do with these.
