Oreos

If you printed the free Nabisco cookie coupon mentioned in this post on Monday, this might be a good week to use it?? I'll admit that I really have no idea how much Oreos typically cost but they are on sale at Meijer this week for $2.49 and milk is on sale for $2.00.

I ran to Meijer last night to use this coupon (and a few others)...hoping for a quick trip! Ummm...NOT so quick! I...or my coupons??...froze up the register. :( I was told that I used too many internet coupons (I only had about 7!) and that the register can't handle that many! WHAT!? I hardly had any in comparison to other shopping trips. I don't think the manager helping me was any too happy. He told me more than once that I used too many coupons. Truth be told, it froze up after I scanned a Meijer Mealbox coupon. I told him I shop there all the time and usually use more than what I had and this has never happened. He just kept telling me I used too many. I was beginning to think he was against coupons!? HA! So after waiting (what felt like) FOREVER (good thing I didn't have ice cream!), I was then sent to another register to re-ring all of my stuff (that was already bagged)...my quick trip ended up being an HOUR! UGH!

Okay...back to the Oreos...

I don't typically buy store bought cookies unless they are nearly free (or free!) but have been itching to buy Oreos...so I was pretty excited when this coupon came out so that I could make these:

I've had a few people tell me about these and I've also seen the recipe on the Kraft site.

You will need:
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
18 oz. package of Oreos, finely crushed (I'll be putting my blender to work!)
almond bark (white or chocolate), melted

Combine about 3 cups cookie crumbs and cream cheese together until well blended. Shape into 1" balls.

Cover cookie sheet with waxed paper.

Dip balls into melted almond bark and place on covered cookie sheet. Sprinkle tops with remaining cookie crumbs.

Refrigerate until firm. Store in refrigerator.

Here is a similar recipe, but different, Cake Balls...try these! YUMMO!

  1. The same thing happened to me on Tuesday at Meijer! I scanned a Meijer Mealbox coupon on a self-checkout lane (the kind with the actual belt-did you use one like that too?) and the guy told me that those registers "don't like" scanned coupons. He was able to get my register working again (after like 10 minutes) but he told me if I have those coupons I should use the regular register. ~Kristen
