Book Review: Plan B by Pete Wilson

I was given a copy of the book from Thomas Nelson Publishing titled Plan B by Pete Wilson to review. Wilson is the lead pastor of Cross Point Church in Nashville, TN.

Plan B is a book geared toward those that are dealing with life…when things don’t go the way we want them to or the way we thought they would…when the unexpected happens. It talks about when things like sickness, job loss, loss of a loved one or a shattered dream become part of our lives. It addresses what to do when we have to move on to “Plan B”. Even though we face what seem to be uncertain circumstances at times, there is Hope. God is there with us no matter what…he never leaves us…he is always there and will use our situation for good.

I loved the fact that this book was SO easy to read. It sincerely kept my interest throughout the book. I loved the author’s sense of humor. The author came across as being very honest and down to earth. He didn’t pretend to have all of the answers nor did he sugar coat anything about what we will face in life--going through trials is part of the Christian life and we need to trust God to get us through those. I really enjoyed how he kept the book full of Biblical references; but also how he tied in personal stories along with relating those stories to people in the Bible.

I would definitely recommend this book to others, especially those that are currently facing trials in their lives. This book also includes questions for thought and discussion which would be perfect in a small group setting or to work through with a friend.

I received this book for free from Thomas Nelson Publishers for review purposes through their Booksneeze program. I was not required to write a positive review. The thoughts above are my own.
